OnTrack Physiotherapy: Proud Supporters of the 2024 Manchester Half Marathon
OnTrack Physiotherapy clinic were out on course at last weeks Manchester Half Marathon, a huge event including 24,000 runners. People come for the atmosphere but also the fast, flat course which brings good chances of a PB! At OnTrack Physio we are passionate about getting injured runners on the start line of their next race and it was great to see a few of our clients out on the course and able to achieve their goals.
Cheering Runners at Dane Road, Sale
Our team set up camp with our campervan on Dane Road, close to our Sale clinic. With energetic music playing, a lot of cheering, and bags of squashies in hand, we were ready to lift spirits and offer support to the thousands of runners taking part. Whether they were seasoned runners marathoners or running their first big race, everyone was met with encouragement from us as they passed by.
Inspiring Performances on the Course
We were proud to witness some truly inspiring performances from the runners, notably Richard who had attended our clinic recently for treatment of an IT band problem. Here’s what he had to say following his appointment with Physiotherapist, Marcus.
“Fantastic! I went to Marcus for a knee issue from running, he provided a very professional service starting with an in depth discussion, physical assessment, diagnosis, and then he took me through a plan for recovery, demoing and guiding me through each exercise in turn. He was full of great advice on how to adapt my plans too so I could still run an event I really didn’t want to miss. I’m a novice runner but he was great at explaining everything, he sent me a link to my treatment plan which includes images and videos of the prescribed exercises online – makes everything super easy to do!”
Richard only started running this year and completed his first half marathon in an impressive time of 1:53. Incredible effort, well done!
Recovery with OnTrack Physio
The Manchester Half Marathon was a lot of fun and we're already looking forward to supporting runners at future events. Marcus said it felt different standing on the pavement cheering, rather than running but had taken a few weeks off following a summer of ultra running events. He enjoyed giving back some of the support he’s had on the streets of Manchester previously. Look out for us at future events.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting your running journey, we're here to help you stay OnTrack—before, during, and after the race! With that, we are still offering 25% off all sports massage when booked with an event medal to help with that recovery.
Happy Running!
